Internet Database Information Searches - Posted by Suffolk County Private Investigator:

After so many calls recently, concerning internet database searches, I have decided to address this subject. This is my opinion, based on my knowledge of the common resources and information received from clients who spent money online just to be disappointed with the lack of information they received.
Some publicly accessible internet databases are fairly informative. Some are acceptable for things such as finding a past friend or school mate, a phone number etc. Some others though are not so great. Regardless, the publicly available searches are in no way as comprehensive as resources available to private investigators.
The databases we use as professional PI's, are available to licensed investigators or their corporations as well as, of course, law enforcement. They are quite accurate, up to date and a great resource for investigations such as locating people, background checks, criminal records, sex offenders, warrants, properties owned, New York State criminal records (from New York State Court Administration, the only accurate source)and an abundance of other information. A typical background search done by Long Island Investigations, will surely give you much more information, such as department of motor vehicles information, associates, property deeds, tax liens, bankruptcies, business associates and so much more that is not available through the other information resources.
So before you plunk down cash for on online data service, think about using a professional.
Call us for your background or criminal check.

Suffolk County Private Investigator - Identity Theft - Long Island Private Investigator

Posted By Long Island Private Investigator and Suffolk County Private Investigator
Identity Theft, Free Information:
If you find that you have become the victim of identity theft, there are a few things you need to know.
First, notify the proper authorities. This has become a common crime that requires the resources only available to law enforcement. You should be contacting the special frauds units, or newly formed Identity Theft Units. Police and prosecutors offices in general, both have special fraud units or identity theft units/task forces.
When a family member of mine became a victim of identity theft, I did not hesitate to notify the Identity Theft Unit locally. I certainly did not open an investigation of my own. You have already had your privacy and identity breached, your credit ruined and a boat-load of other issues. It shouldn't and doesn't help you to pay further, for assistance that is free form experts with the resources that private investigators simply do not have.
Services for identity theft are gratis from the right resources.
Identity theft, as we well know, has become a tremendous problem in this country today. In fact, about 10 million people per year have become victims, with that number growing each year.
Fortunately for us, this is a major law enforcement issue that is being investigated fully by special units.
If you become the victim of identity theft, notify law enforcement. Identity theft is a CRIME and the proper authorities can direct and assist you.
Visit this web site for some very useful information to help you through and answer most questions: Identity Theft, Free Information:

Suffolk County Private Investigator, Nassau County Private Investigator - Cellular Telephone Records

This question has been asked and answered so many times, it's incredible! But let me once again revisit the subject of cell phone records.
Cell phone records are private. These records are not(and haven't been for quite a while)legally accessible. A bill was signed which prohibits anyone from obtaining the records, with the accept ion, of course, of law enforcement who can still get them by subpoena, as should be. But as for private investigators? Nope, not happening..forget it.
Further, recent legislation has introduced a new "privacy and cell phone" issue: CNA's. CNA's, or Caller Name and Address, as referred to by some(better known professionally as "subscriber information")may soon be off limits as well.
To some, this is viewed as a major hurdle to overcome in the investigative field. It may have been a nice resource for information, but there are many ways to conduct an investigation without cell phone records. Many in the profession are realizing that now. If you think about it, it is actually a positive thing for this industry.

Long Island Investigations offers two types of asset locates. These searches identify all monetary type accounts such as savings, checking, trust funds, annuity, stocks, bonds 401k's, 457 plans and much more.
A local search(by state) consists of exactly that; A statewide search of your choice. The second type is a United States nationwide search which also includes the country of Canada.
A local search gives you the option of a less costly way to find hidden assets, should you feel a nationwide search is not needed. Whichever you choose or require, our fees for these services are very affordable, as compared to other resources, and are the most comprehensive available. Covert Recordings

Recently we have had many inquiries about secret and covert recording, especially in the area of infidelity and cheating partner type investigations. Here is the bottom line!:
We/you can not record conversations in New York State, unless you/we are part of that conversation. This pertains to New York and other states that are "one party" states. In some states, BOTH parties need to consent to the recording.
In New York, if you are not part of the secretly recorded conversation, you are committing a class E felony.
Simply put, this means no phone taps or secreting a recorder in your spouses vehicle. No voice activated recorders left in the home, etc, no listening in on a conversation covertly.
The next question to be answered; What about nanny cams or other hidden video?
If video is used, you can not have audio recording active.
Many people question or disagree, but privacy concerns are the reason for theses laws!
So, based on these facts, please do not ask us to break the law! We will not do it, no matter how many times or ways you ask.
Keep in mind, there are many other ways to conduct an investigation and find the truth. Ask us about it!

Infidelity and Cheating Partner Investigations - Posted by Suffolk County Private Investigator:

Is he/she cheating? Maybe; then again; maybe not. Long Island Investigations can find out by conducting a surveillance case, documenting their actions with video or photographs, GPS tracking and computer forensics.
Some signs, aside from the obvious perfume smell or lipstick; those are easy and obvious. But what about the experienced or careful cheater? What about the ones who have already been caught and know how to avoid the mistakes they previously made? Or those who have done research or heard friends stories?
Here are some signs:
  1. Sex drive has changed; increased or decreased recently
  2. Looks to a fight in order to leave the house.(To use the cell or meet the person)
  3. Suspicious phone calls from restricted numbers
  4. Finds new excuses to leave home(They need privacy on the cell phone)
  5. If you have sex, something has changed like a new act or position.
  6. Suddenly works overtime (previously hated to, and tried to avoid it altogether) Now they love it and work late often.
  7. Suddenly has a newly found interest in their appearance. Joined a gym? Wears nicer clothes? Cleaned his car inside and out and never has before? Is your significant other trying to impress someone?
  8. Short tempered
  9. Runs out of vacation days at work
These are just a few of the signs. If you suspect something is happening, hire a professional to get the truth. Visit Long Island Investigations, Inc. at www.longislandinvestigations.com
We can help find the truth!
